Handwoven, soft and comfortable Khadi cotton drape in indigo adorned with a vibrant dark blue border and handembroidered star Jamdani motifs in white
Right from harvesting the Khadi cotton cloth, removing seeds & separating the fibres, to spinning, dyeing & weaving - everything is done by hand.
Khadi is both handspun and handwoven, which makes it a time intensive craft. Just the refining of raw cotton takes about two weeks to a month, while another month is spent in spinning it into threads - adding upto a total of 5-6 months to weave a single saree.
In Jamdani, motifs are inlaid into the fabric by adding a denser thread to fine warp threads by hand. This process is considered to be one of the most advanced hand weaving techniques in the world.
The creation of Jamdani weaves requires 2-3 weavers and anywhere between 1 week and 1 month to finish.
