Alterego is a clothing label that designs hip, edgy apparel using hand-woven fabrics and traditional embroideries, promoting the “Make in India” initiative.
In Jamdani, motifs are inlaid into the fabric by adding a denser thread to fine warp threads by hand. This process is considered to be one of the most advanced hand weaving techniques in the world.
The creation of Jamdani weaves requires 2-3 weavers and anywhere between 1 week and 1 month to finish.
