Handwoven, soft Bengal cotton drape in delicate green adorned with intricate handembroidered white floral motifs and a thin dark green border, inspired by Mother Nature.
Known as 'tant', the Bengal cotton saree is woven with the finest and most ancient weaving technique originating in the 15th century. The hallmark of a Tant saree is the use of locally grown cotton, whose handspun yarn adds to the feather-like texture.
In Jamdani, motifs are inlaid into the fabric by adding a denser thread to fine warp threads by hand. This process is considered to be one of the most advanced hand weaving techniques in the world.
The creation of Jamdani weaves requires 2-3 weavers and anywhere between 1 week and 1 month to finish.
