Handwoven Mangalgiri Silk
The town of Mangalgiri is known for its exquisitely crafted fabric influenced by indigenous designs of Andhra Pradesh that are reminiscent of the Nawabi rule. Mangalgiri fabric is marked by hand-embroidered zari work with high thread density per square inch, ranging from 40 (coarse) to 120 (superfine), sometimes more. Combined with the unique technique of weaving on a pit loom without any gaps in the fabric - it takes a skilled weaver 3-4 full days of work to finish weaving six yards of Mangalgiri.
Gently hand wash in cold water, and air dry in shade. Iron in medium heat only. Every piece is designed and crafted by hand. Any unevenness in texture or embroidery is not a defect, but a characteristic of the handwoven product and a part of the process, that makes it unique. We do not mass produce our clothes- each piece is specially tailored for you. We will dispatch your box of happiness within 5- 15 days of your order being placed.
